It is important that you perform a thorough visual inspection of the area that needs waxing. Check for signs of broken skin or inflammation. When you detect a wound or open skin, it’s best to delay waxing until the skin is completely healed. Identify moles or beauty marks that you may have so that your aesthetician can take measures to protect them during your session.

We encourage you to let your hair grow to about a quarter of an inch before waxing. This is because If the hair is too short, the wax will begin sticking to your skin and not grip the hair. On the other hand, hair that is too long may be more painful to remove, and we want you to be as comfortable as possible. Usually 2-3 weeks of hair growth before your waxing appointment will get you optimal results.

Exfoliate the skin to be waxed a day or two before your scheduled appointment. Do not use rough exfoliators before waxing. Instead, use a soft washcloth soaked in warm water to gently exfoliate the skin.

You can also moisturize the skin with a light moisturizer a few days prior to and on the day of hair removal. However, heavy moisturizers aren’t advised as they could harm the wax’s grip. Also, we ask that you avoid retinol skincare products for two weeks before you appointment, as retinol can make the skin more vulnerable. But using light moisturizer to keep skin well hydrated allows for the wax to release more easily and with less pain.
